18 year old Carl Lomas, son of Mayor Alan Lomas, was found dead in Kooroogool National Park at approximately 2pm yesterday afternoon, police have confirmed.
Lomas was discovered by two students from St Hugh’s School. The two students were walking home from a sports day when they came across the body of Lomas, police said.
Senior Constable Tony Douglas has said that there is no evidence of foul play as of yet, however the exact cause of death cannot be confirmed until the coroner’s report is completed.
Carl’s death has left the Lomas family reeling. The mayor and his wife Rosita, who coordinates fundraising in the community, lost their first son Frank in a car accident.
Mrs Lomas has spoken out, imploring people to understand the family’s difficult circumstances and respect their privacy,
“He was a good boy and a wonderful human being … and we all miss him” said Mrs Lomas.
